Team Overview 

The Product & Applied AI team is a dedicated group focused on transforming our business by building unique Fingerpaint solutions and evolving our ways of working. In partnership with the business, we identify high-value opportunities and build the foundations, software, agents, tools, and workflows that will empower the broader agency to achieve its business goals and deliver strategic and imaginative work. 

 

Role Overview 

The SVP, Product Management, leads the agency's growing Product Manager team and owns the full product portfolio. You set the function's strategy, standards, and practices, establish business relationships, and are accountable for the business impact and adoption of the product portfolio.  

 

In this role, you will build and grow the team of Product Managers and Directors, own the roadmap and prioritization logic with partnership with Product Operations, and Product Engineering lead, and are responsible for how Product Management operates as a discipline at Fingerpaint. 

 

Please note that this is a hybrid role that requires 2 days per week onsite in Philadelphia, PA. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities 

 

Function Leadership 

  • Team Leadership: Lead the growing Product Management group; Own hiring, career development, performance management, and org structure for the growing team. 
  • Practice Standards: Set the standards, tools, templates, and processes for how Product Management operates across the agency, including BRD/PRFAQ standards, prioritization frameworks, and Agile practices. 
  • Career Framework: Own and evolve the Product Management career framework, ensuring clear leveling and growth paths from Product Manager through Director. 

 

Portfolio Strategy & Ownership 

  • Portfolio Ownership: Own the roadmap and BRD/backlog quality across the entire AI product portfolio, ensuring consistency and prioritization logic across all products. 
  • Prioritization Framework: Maintain and evolve the prioritization framework and effort-assessment criteria used across the portfolio, in partnership with Product Ops and Engineering leadership. 
  • Capacity Planning: Partner with Product Ops and Engineering leadership on portfolio-wide capacity planning, allocating engineering resources across all products and the Product Managers and Directors who own them. 
  • Portfolio Strategy: Work with leadership to continually assess portfolio and ensure alignment of investment with broader agency growth goals. 

 

Executive Partnership 

  • Executive Relationships: Represent Product Management internally and externally with clients as required. Serve as the senior voice for what the AI product function is building and why. 
  • Budget Ownership: Own budget and resourcing decisions for the Product Management function, including headcount planning and prioritization of investment across the portfolio. 
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with the senior leaders and business sponsors to identify and resolve conflicts in prioritizations and general product strategy. 

Adoption, Commercialization & ROI 

  • Portfolio Adoption: Own adoption strategy across the entire portfolio; ensure rollout and training approaches are consistent and effective across all products. Work with L&D to formalize training specific to product.  
  • Accountability & Impact: Accountable for AI product portfolio measurement and impact Own reporting on product function performance to agency leadership. 
  • Commercialization Strategy: Contribute to the agency's strategy for product business planning.  

Governance & Compliance 

  • Governance Ownership: Serve as the senior Product voice in AI governance, partnering directly with Legal and IT/Operations leadership on policy decisions rather than only flagging concerns for review. 
  • Ensure Product Management practices remain aligned with evolving regulatory requirements across the portfolio. 

 

Requirements and Experience 

  • Minimum of 12–15 years of experience in Product Management, including significant experience leading Product Management as a function (leading leaders), preferably within a digital agency, marketing technology, or SaaS environment. 
  • AI Fluency: Deep, strategic understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations, sufficient to set investment strategy and communicate trade-offs to agency leadership and clients. 
  • The Industry: Substantial experience working in regulated industries (healthcare/pharma) is highly preferred. 
  • Leadership: Proven track record building and growing a multi-level Product Management team; experience developing Directors and Product Managers. 
  • Executive Presence: Demonstrated ability to represent a function to executive leadership, ownership, and clients; strong influence skills without direct authority over partner functions. 
  • Strategic & Data-Driven: Ability to set and defend function-level and portfolio-level strategy using business and usage data; comfort owning budget and resourcing trade-offs.
